Oran Addiction Prevention Center

Monica, the director, is in the middle. The white sign says "A favorable family environment is the best place for prevention." She works with families to prevent young people from getting addicted to things like alcohol and glue sniffing. She gets her funding from the city of Oran, but it is very minimal.

Here is the back yard of the house she works in. She has plans to turn it into a place where young people can do constructive things such as gardening, woodwork, caring for small animals like chickens or rabbits, and maybe a woodworking shop, bike repair shop or arts and crafts workshop. She wants to give them something to do besides hang out on the street and a healthy place to go as an alternative to their unhealthy homes where they are psychologically abused and neglected, even if not not physically or sexually abused.
